Site ledger - coordinates before slogans

Each note covers corridor, depth habit, who it fits, and what the briefing will insist on. Conditions still win on the day.

How to read this page

These are field notes, not postcards

Depth ranges are recreational planning bands, not guarantees. - Who it fits - assumes honest logbooks. If your last dive was three years ago, say so - we will rebuild the week around that truth instead of pretending currency.

Park rules, wreck etiquette, and wildlife distance are non-negotiable on Kass A days. If a site needs a liveaboard, we will not invent a day-boat shortcut to close a sale.

Divers over a coral reef

Ras Mohammed - Shark Reef & Yolanda

Classic wall with a current that teaches humility. Anemone cities on the plateau; wreck debris used as navigation practice. Best when the skipper times the drift - not when the group insists on a fixed photo stop in moving water.

Scuba divers beside a shipwreck

SS Thistlegorm

1941 freighter on Sha - ab Ali. Motorcycles and trucks still stop conversations mid-sentence. Penetration is a privilege: briefed team, silt discipline, redundant lights, and a guide who already knows which hold you will not enter that day.

Divers descending in blue water

Jackson Reef - Strait of Tiran

Hard coral shelves and current lanes. When the strait runs, this is a drift with purpose; when it rests, it becomes a slow look at anthias weather. Buoyancy mistakes show up as reef scars - we brief mid-water habits hard.

Southern & offshore notes

Sea turtle in blue water

Abu Dabbab

Seagrass flats and turtle traffic. Gentler profiles for newer divers - still a place where fins stay off the bed. Distance rules apply even when a turtle is - almost posing.

Elphinstone

Wall diving with a reputation. Current can rewrite the plan mid-dive. We brief exits before we praise soft coral - and we cancel when the day is ego, not ocean.

Brother Islands

Seamounts in open blue. Pelagics when season and luck align - or long empty blue that still teaches. Liveaboard seat required. Beginners do not belong on this week.
